FAQ

I hear this word ‘hackerspace’ being tossed around, what exactly is a hackerspace?

A hackerspace is a community location where visitors can build, create and explore new things in a safe and open envirornment. Think of hackerspaces as a gym for making cool things. Hackerspaces provide the machines, tools, workshops and support for making your dream project a reality.

How can I get involved?

Dweeb Deb was officially founded on January 14, 2012 and is still in the early planning stages. We’re currently in the process looking for a space and obtaining 501(c)(3) non-profit status. We’ll be hosting community planning sessions very soon, so be sure to check our Events Calendar.

Where will Dweeb Den located?

Currently Dweeb Den is homeless, but we are planning to locate somewhere in the immediate Sacramento area. Check our blog for news and updates, share your opinion or join our virtual community!

I wouldn’t use the word ‘hacker’ to describe myself. Can I still join?

YES! Dweeb Den welcomes all members of the Sacramento community. Once we’ve found a space we plan on hosting classes and meetups – and hope you’ll join us!
